Our Gift to you – Yoga for Mental Health

Blog Article

This week is National Mental Health Awareness Week and Mother’s Day is quickly approaching. We miss you all and want to offer you (and mom) something that could help support you moving with purpose and positively impact your mental wellness. As a community of recovery, we are experiencing stress and uncertainties that we never expected. Fresh Start is committed to supporting you as part of our community in the best ways we can. Lisa Simone – our National Communications Director at Fresh Start – owns a yoga studio in Chippawa and we are bringing to YOU, and the rest of our Fresh Start community, free yoga classes!

Yoga is an excellent way to reduce stress especially in difficult times. We also thought this would be a special way to give a gift and say “Happy Mothers Day” for our alumni, friends, family, supporters, community partners and staff. This is one chance for Fresh Start to give back to you and on Sunday give a meaningful gift that might help Mom during isolation.

Research indicates that yoga can be an effective “prescription” for what ails us:

Yoga has many physical benefits AND is proven to:

– Reduce Anxiety
– Improve Sleep
– Improve Mood
– Decrease Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms

We have 4 different time slots giving you ample opportunities to participate in our Yoga including:

Y12SR – Yoga for Recovery Monday May 4th 5:00 pm MST
Morning Yoga Classes every morning from May 5th to and including May 12th at 7:00 am MST
#GetReal Yoga Class Wednesday May 6th 3:00 pm MST
Mother’s Day Yoga Sunday May 10th 11:00 am MST

Attend by logging into Zoom https://zoom.us/j/5370317382 OR
Log into your Zoom App or website and type in Meeting ID: 537 031 7382

If you need support contact [email protected] and she will walk you through to get set up, answer any questions and even provide some words on what to write in the card!

Happy National Mental Health Awareness Week and Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible moms, stepmoms, grandmas, aunties and women that help shape kids lives!!

Kindest Regards,

Mission Fit

Ron Jarrett, owner of Mission Fitness is what a committed and helpful community partner is all about. He trains the clients in the house weekly and believes that true strength and progress can only be made from a solid foundation.  That foundation includes alignment, mobility and stability, and must address any muscular imbalances, weaknesses and lack of connection.  Achieving this level means the body is able to progress safely without fear of injury. www.missionfit.ca
