Giving Tuesday Now Food Drive

Blog Article

When COVID-19 hit Calgary, Fresh Start’s staff were busy planning and working towards a strong year of community functions and ideas. Our plans and hopes, like yours and those of so many others, were stopped cold by a pandemic we are still struggling to understand.

We decided to do what we could. We shifted our Social Enterprise 1111 Food Truck and Crew to support those in recovery that needed groceries, which led to opportunities to help families get the food and supplies they needed in order to keep on going, without risking exposure to COVID-19.

For #GivingTuesdayNOW, we are going to give back. We are going to continue to do our part by helping support those that do not have.

We are keeping our Food Truck Crew in the community helping to collect donations of food items and resources. Over the past 6 weeks we have worked with various agencies, City of Calgary Social Workers, and some wonderful people in the community that have been able to feed and support 41 families. With your help, we can do more.

Starting today we are setting up a 5-day food, funds and extra’s “raiser” and will distribute the items on GivingTuesdayNOW on May 5. If you would like to be part of giving back, if you want to help but are limited in getting out to help – then let us help you do so. Our crew has been working in these communities and strictly following AHS and City of Calgary guidelines. Call us or message us directly with questions and ideas… or click the link  below to donate and receive a tax receipt and specify, “Food Drive”. Your support helps make our resources go further so that together, we give.
