The Basic Items:

  • Steed toed work boots, running shoes, sandals & slippers 
  • New socks & new underwear
  • Work out clothes - T-shirts, muscle shirts, sneakers, track pants, shorts and weight room gloves
  • Jeans, casual pants and shorts
  • T-shirts both long & short sleeve
  • Outdoor jackets & hoodies (cleaning your closet? we will take winter jackets)
  • Outside work attire - work boots, gloves, Fire Retardant (jackets, pants & coveralls), reflective vest and hard hats
  • Sports Equipment - hockey equipment (sticks, pucks and skates), baseball equipment (cleats, bats & gloves), Tennis rackets and balls, Swiming trunks, new yoga mats
  • Razors, shave cream, deoderant & toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Reading glasses
  • Alarm clocks
  • Recovery related literature (NA-AA)
  • Bus passes or tickets
  • Gift certificates for men and their families; Wal-Mart, McDonalds, Burger King, Tim Horton’s, Starbuck's, movie theatres, Zoo passes, Telus Spark, Heritage Park,Event tickets (hockey, football, concerts), iTunes, etc 
  • Bath towels

  • 8 1/2 x 11 Copy Paper

So my ten year journey has been one with many, many setbacks and pain, but ultimately so much opportunity for growth. The NA/AA programs and steps let me see who I was, and all the love and encouragement I received from friends and family led me to a life worth living.

You can ask me has it been easy. No! I have never worked so hard in all my years. Yet the work goes on, progress, not perfection! Every day brings me closer to the man I should be, and further from the wretch I was. Keeping growth and gratitude is difficult, but the grace of God and the love I receive, keeps me there.

Is it easy? No!  Is it worth it Yes, yes and yes!
